It’s August 1st, do you know what that means!? It’s also Lughnasadh – 1/2 way between Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox.
It’s that time of summer when you are thinking about ramping up business for the Fall but still want to have those lazy Summer pool/beach days.
I get it. I’m feeling it too. Here in Boston, this week has been exactly reflective of this narrative. Tuesday and Wednesday, almost 100 degrees, then Today – a high of 66 degrees is expected. Just Mother Nature showcasing that she, too, knows that it’s time to prepare for Autumn, but still doesn’t want to let go of Summer!
Whether you feel the ‘go-time’ or you are still in the ‘rest’, I applaud you for listening to your inner wisdom. Follow the flow and expand when ready! Today, we are talking about expansion. Now is a great time to revamp, rethink, or start your podcast plans for Fall. So, read on for some more tips!

The Real Talk about starting a podcast!
Let’s address the elephant in the room – those voices in your head telling you why you can’t or shouldn’t start that thing you keep thinking about.
“I don’t have anything unique to say.”
This is complete BS. Your life experiences are different from everyone else’s. The way you were raised, taught, and how your life has unfolded creates a perspective that’s entirely yours. Even twins think differently and have different ways of expressing the same ideas. Your wisdom is enough, and people are waiting for you to deliver your message to them.
“No one will listen.”
Maybe you’re thinking you’ll be talking to crickets. Here’s the truth: look at who actually shows up. Even if it’s just your mom, sister, and niece – you’re making an impact on those three people. Those are your people, and they matter. Continue to nail down your message and share it, because more people will follow when they’re ready for your voice.
“I don’t have time.”
You can create content faster than you think. Focus on one topic at a time, keep things simple, and ditch the fluff. You don’t need 20-minute meditations or over-produced content. Just nail down who you are, what you’re about, and deliver value. Simple and authentic beats perfect every time.
“I’m not tech-savvy.”
Use your phone. Seriously. Sit in your car if you need to. Stop overcomplicating it and just get your voice out there.
“What if I fail or sound silly?”
You’re human – you’ll improve with practice. No one starts perfect. Even actors do multiple takes. Your first attempts are just getting those kinks out and getting the train chugging along.
Here’s what I know to be true: “You can hold onto the fear and still move forward.” That resistance you feel isn’t a stop sign – it’s growth trying to happen.
The people who need your message, your perspective, your wisdom – they’re already out there waiting. They don’t need you to be perfect. They need you to be real and to start.
